Week Round-Up January 17, 2026

Got a lovely raid from Kalden Berg on the Monday Morning Sing Song. I met Kalden in a songwriting group during the pandemic and it’s always so nice to hear from him. We played a lot of songs from the Debauchery and Vice column of my song list and then we raided Racky a singer songwriter from the Philippines who made us all feel very welcome (and sang an Anne Murray medley for me <3)

On Tuesday we mostly chatted, but also made a little headway in the score for Then we raided MisterDJMan who was having his New Tunes Tuesday show where he listens to music released in the last year. It had a lovely vibe.

Wednesday was somewhat epic. On Wednesday we had a bunch of prog fans show up at the TikTok stream so I was able to play some of my fav prog covers and originals. We sorted out all our tangly bits on the song wrangling stream and made great headway with the ‘Either Way’ score, before raiding Nalani Proctor who streams a whole bunch of different things, and today was working on a crocheted Yoshi costume, and it is amaaaaaazing! Then I did the Weekly Wednesday Warble on Youtube. The theme was January and I sang a collection of tunes about winter, January observances, famous people who had birthdays etc. I had a lot of fun putting it together and was really happy with how it went. We didn’t raid anyone after the Yakuza stream on Friday, but we made some real headway on the Triumph piece I’m learning on the classical guitar. (Midsummer’s Daydream) and we had quite a bit. Since I’ve been playing Yakuza 5 on stream, we chose Abishiri Prison for our Saturday night movie as it is clearly an inspiration for the section of the game I’m currently playing.

We enjoyed the last Biathlon meet before the Olympics and of course we watched Sumo all week.
