Monday Movie Musings - Why Don't You Play In Hell
I have almost 0 recollection of this movie. (Which is why it’s so important to me to keep track.) It’s been almost a year exactly. That’s all it takes for me to completely forget I’ve seen a film. I took a closer look at the cover, and it tweaked some memories of a couple scenes, but that’s about it. No characters, no story. Sounds like I really enjoyed this though, so I suppose I shall enjoy it again sometime!
Why Don’t You Play In Hell (2013)
8/10
Never give up on your dreams!
Date Watched: Oct 7, 2024
Met my expectations then did me one better!
I had a very clear idea of what I would be getting into when I decided to watch a film with the description ‘A renegade film crew becomes embroiled with a yakuza clan feud.’ on Tubi.
I thought I’d be in for some ridiculous fun that I would enjoy immensely, but, you know, A renegade film crew becomes embroiled with a yakuza clan feud on Tubi! Any way, this went above and beyond. I loved the way the parts of the story jump back and forth as if you’re doing the substories in a Yakuza game. Speaking of which, I was looking up to see what films I’d seen Shin’ichi Tsutsumi in and had a good chuckle when I realized it’s Joe Shibisawa from Like A Dragon 7 and 8!
Anyway, the ridiculousness is on full throttle, as is the fake blood. The moral about the importance of not giving up on your dreams is very inspiring.
